The Citizens' Group for the Countermeasures for the Low-Income and People's Livelihoods (Sub-min-wi, Secretary-General Kim Soon-hwan) announced on the 28th that they have filed a complaint with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency against Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Kim Yun-deok, Minister of Education Choi Gyo-jin, and Commissioner General of the Military Manpower Administration Hong So-young for dereliction of duty and other charges related to suspicions surrounding former nominee for Minister of Planning and Budget, Lee Hye-hoon.
In their complaint, Sub-min-wi stated, "Nominee Lee Hye-hoon violated fairness with allegations of illegal subscription sales, preferential admission for her eldest son to Yonsei University, and preferential assignment for her second and third sons to public service, thereby damaging public trust." They added, "We are appalled by the dereliction of duty of the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Minister of Education, and the Commissioner General of the Military Manpower Administration, who ignored these facts."
Furthermore, they argued, "Minister Kim should have promptly notified the Housing Supply Promotion Headquarters and requested an investigation, and Minister Choi should have notified the Admissions Irregularities Investigation Team of the Auditor's Office and initiated an investigation into Yonsei University." They also claimed, "Commissioner General Hong should have also conducted a prompt investigation through the Office of the Auditor, but failure to do so constitutes dereliction of duty."
