U.S. President Donald Trump launched a strong attack on Democratic politicians in Minnesota on January 31 (local time) regarding the large-scale federal subsidy fraud and embezzlement investigation the federal government is conducting in the state, stating that the scale of the fraud is immense.

President Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social, on the same day, "The scale of theft and fraud in Minnesota is much larger than the originally estimated $19 billion (approximately 27.5 trillion won)."

He added that the previous Biden administration "did nothing to address this fraud, even though they knew it was happening."

He also called Representative Ilhan Omar, a Democrat of Somali descent who represents Minnesota, a "Scammer" and stated, "Omar and her extremely terrible friends from Somalia should immediately be put in jail or, even worse, sent back to Somalia."

President Trump also targeted Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, a Democrat, saying he is "either the most corrupt official in history or the most incompetent." He added, "Even people with very low intelligence should have known what was happening in Minnesota."

Recently, President Trump had dispatched Tom Homan, the White House Border Czar, to the area to oversee the crackdown on illegal immigration, attempting to de-escalate the situation after anti-government protests intensified and political pressure grew following an incident where federal agents fatally shot two U.S. citizens in Minnesota.

He even made a gesture of reconciliation by directly calling Governor Walz and saying, "We are on a similar wavelength."

However, President Trump's shift back to a "blaming mode" on this day is interpreted as an attempt to justify the large-scale federal investigation into alleged federal subsidy fraud in Minnesota and to shift responsibility to Democratic politicians.
