The commander of U.S. Central Command accused Iran on Monday of conducting a drone attack targeting civilian areas in Bahrain, denouncing what he called ongoing acts of aggression across the Middle East.
In a statement posted on X, formerly Twitter, U.S. Navy Admiral Brad Cooper stated that the Iranian military launched seven attack drones into residential areas of Bahrain overnight. He characterized the attack as part of a broader pattern of Iranian activity targeting multiple countries in the region.
“The Iranian terrorist regime has attacked 12 countries and is deliberately targeting civilians across the Middle East,” Cooper said. “Last night, the Iranian military launched seven attack drones into civilian residential areas of Bahrain.”
Cooper cited the alleged attack as an example of growing security concerns in the region and warned that such actions would not be tolerated.

“This is unacceptable and will not stand,” he said. “We will continue to work with our regional partners to counter these types of actions that threaten innocent people throughout this region.”
CENTCOM did not immediately release further operational details about the incident, including whether there were any damages or casualties from the drones, or if any were intercepted.
Bahrain is home to the U.S. Navy’s 5th Fleet command and is a strategic partner country for the United States in the Persian Gulf. The island nation has long been considered a key base for U.S. naval operations in the region.
Security analysts say drone warfare is increasingly becoming a key element of regional conflicts, with unmanned aerial systems being used directly by state actors and allied militias.
