U.S. President Donald Trump will attend the White House Correspondents' Association (WHCA) annual dinner on the 24th (local time), which is being held again after being disrupted by a shooting incident.

Fox News reported that President Trump and key administration officials are scheduled to attend the WHCA dinner, which will be held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Washington, D.C.

This event comes about three months after the dinner on April 25 at the Washington Hilton Hotel was cut short when an armed assailant breached a security checkpoint and opened fire, forcing President Trump and other attendees to evacuate in an emergency.

The event is expected to be held in a more subdued atmosphere, with a change of venue due to security concerns and a smaller list of attendees compared to previous years.

According to a list of attendees obtained by Fox News, First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who attended the April dinner, will not be present this time due to previously scheduled commitments.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, FBI Director Kash Patel, and White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt are among those expected to attend.

The WHCA annual dinner has traditionally been held at the Washington Hilton, but the venue has been changed to the Waldorf Astoria Hotel for this event. This location is the former Trump International Hotel, which was previously operated by President Trump’s business.

Security measures have also been significantly strengthened.

CNN, citing law enforcement officials, reported that the new venue has fewer access points than the Hilton Hotel, making it more efficient for security purposes.

President Trump did not attend any WHCA dinners throughout his first term, and this marks his first attendance during his second term.

There is also keen interest in what message President Trump, who has frequently launched sharp attacks against media outlets critical of him and his administration, will deliver at this flagship journalism event.

Weijia Jiang, president of the WHCA, said in an email to members last month that the dinner would serve as "a declaration that there is no place for violence in American society and that a free press will not be silenced by threats."
