Gulf of Oman [AFP=Yonhap News]
The U.S. military announced on the 25th (local time) that it is maintaining a full maritime blockade against Iran.
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), which oversees the Middle East, stated on X (formerly Twitter) that day, "As of the 25th, we have diverted 12 merchant vessels that attempted to breach the blockade, neutralized two vessels that failed to comply with instructions, and boarded two others to verify compliance with the blockade."
According to the command, the U.S. military completed an inspection after boarding the Comoros-flagged oil tanker M/T Charminar in the Arabian Sea earlier that day, and the vessel has since been allowed to continue its voyage.
Additionally, the previous day, the U.S. neutralized the Mozambique-flagged oil tanker M/T Lavin in the Gulf of Oman after it repeatedly attempted to violate the blockade and ignored multiple warnings.
