President Donald Trump is drawing attention for suggesting that the Iranian people should rise up in revolution.

In a post on Truth Social on the night of Tuesday the 1st, President Trump posed the question: "When will the Iranian people rise up and fight?"

This remark comes as the Trump administration has sharply increased both military and economic pressure on Iran, signaling that the goal is regime change rather than seeking an end-of-war settlement with Tehran.

President Trump wrote on Truth Social, "Contrary to what the Fake News ABC is reporting, I am not trying to bring Iran to the negotiating table. I couldn’t care less if they sign a meaningless deal or not."

He further added, "I much prefer our current position, where we have almost total control of the Strait of Hormuz and the Iranian economy is in total collapse. They are just facing an inevitable conclusion."

Meanwhile, immediately following his post, President Trump shared a column from the New York Post dated the 23rd of last month, which is interpreted as an indication that the column reflects the stance of the Trump administration.

The column, written by the New York Post editorial board, asserts that "Trump is winning the war with Iran" and advises him to "stay the course."

The New York Post argues that while Iran is struggling to find an escape route as it is driven into crisis, the United States must maintain a firm position.

Crucially, the fact that oil is currently flowing through the Strait of Hormuz signifies that Tehran's attempts to close the strait have failed.

Neighboring countries that have been targets of Iranian aggression have also reached their breaking point. The United Arab Emirates, Iran's largest trading partner, halted all trade, including financial transactions, last week.

For decades, Dubai has played a pivotal role in helping Tehran evade sanctions, supplying more than one-third of Iran's imports.

With inflation already exceeding 90% amid mass unemployment and other crises, the regime's ability to pay its regular military has been increasingly compromised.

Now, even the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps will soon come under pressure, which will jeopardize the most critical pillar of the regime.

Thanks to U.S. escort ships, oil transport through the strait is now stable, with 200 ships (and counting) passing through safely every week—a nearly 400% increase from just two weeks ago.

International oil prices are currently being maintained at a manageable level, although they remain significantly higher than January levels.

While Iran threatens on one hand, it is simultaneously proposing the resumption of negotiations, claiming to want peace. However, the Trump administration is making it clear that it will not be tethered to negotiations with Iran.

The New York Post pointed out that Iran's actions are designed to support the narrative of Trump's critics in the U.S. This narrative claims that Iranian leadership desperately wanted a permanent peace deal, but that the removal of "moderates" by U.S. and Israeli airstrikes allowed hardliners to seize power, and that the only way to defeat these villains is to negotiate with the remaining moderates so they can oust the worst elements.

The Iranian regime has repeatedly used variations of this tactic, and Western leftists, particularly the media, have consistently been fooled by or complicit in it. However, the proposals from Iranian "moderates" have never translated into actual action, and have always ended with the hardliners reaping the benefits.

Mark Dubowitz warned in an interview with the New York Post that it is highly likely Tehran will launch a maximum-scale offensive by the end of October, just before the Israeli and U.S. elections, using its stockpiled missiles and drones—and potentially even its cyber warfare capabilities.

The New York Post noted, "The purpose of this strategy is to throw the voters of both countries into a state of panic to create a sense of crisis, thereby ousting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu while ensuring the Democratic Party gains firm control of Congress to cut defense budgets and embroil Trump in another impeachment scandal."
