  • President Park Chung Hee's Miracle on the Han River and the Jamsil Youth Revolution

In 1960, the March 15th fraudulent election occurred, leading to the April 19th Revolution just one month later. Then, a year after that, on May 16th, 1961, a military coup took place. Reflecting on these events as pivotal turning points in history, the Republic of Korea is truly a great nation.

This is to say that a newly formed nation with no prior experience in democracy achieved the Miracle on the Han River within 30 years and has now proudly risen to become one of the world's top 5 military powers.

The author, born in 1951, learned the Thousand Character Classic at the age of seven and grew up understanding 100% of newspapers written in mixed Chinese and Korean characters. I have lived through and witnessed firsthand the history of overcoming the dreaded five-thousand-year period of grain shortages to achieve the Miracle on the Han River.

Because of this, I am someone who praises President Park Chung-hee's leadership, which led the Miracle on the Han River, more than anyone else. I therefore consider the Republic of Korea, a top 10 economic power globally, to be a nation blessed by heaven.

However, unfortunately, the Republic of Korea is now heading in the exact opposite direction. This is due to the growth pains of 66 years of compressed development. The nation's growth engine has been lost as the government was usurped by the indigenous South Korean Communist Party, which has always been hostile to conservative administrations. There are other reasons as well. It is also due to the public, who are lost in their manipulative politics, always chanting about democratization. At this rate, within the next year, our Republic of Korea might become a vassal state of China.

The future generations (those in their 10s, 20s, and 30s) have inherited this!

Despite the opposition parties and the shouts of the asphalt conservatives that the June 3rd local elections would be the last elections in the Republic of Korea, I still harbored some hope. But that hope has led to disaster. The suspicions of election fraud, which began with the shortage of ballots in Songpa District, have snowballed, leading to the "Jamsil Youth Revolution."

The 20s and 30s generation, realizing the perilous reality of the Republic of Korea facing ruin, issued a call to action by President Yoon Suk-yeol and stormed the sites of alleged election fraud.

Shouting for a rerun and same-day ballot counting, they have been defending the site of alleged election fraud for 20 days now. It is their own survival strategy that no one can stop.

They are well aware of the April 19th Student Uprising, which opposed the March 15th fraudulent election. They instinctively understand what the Lee Jae-myung administration, in collusion with the Chinese Communist Party, might do if the June 3rd fraudulent election is ignored. No one can step in to interfere with them. This is because the Free Republic of Korea belongs to them.

Just as the April 19th Revolution did, the Jamsil Youth Revolution, triggered by the June 3rd fraudulent election, will undoubtedly change the course of history. The Jamsil Youth Revolution, led by the 20s and 30s generation, is burning with the fervent passion of pure, uncorrupted youth. If only a second President Park Chung-hee, who achieved the Miracle on the Han River, appears, the Republic of Korea will leap forward as an eternal and immortal nation.
