Hong Kong Tourism Board to hold 'Hong Kong Summer Fun' during 'Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival'

The Hong Kong Tourism Board is launching "Hong Kong Summer Fun," a promotion that bundles tourism, shopping, dining, and transportation benefits targeting the summer season.

 

The Hong Kong Summer Fun, which runs until August 31st, kicks off with the "Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival," celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.


‘Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival’

 

The Dragon Boat Festival, held at the Tsim Sha Tsui promenade until July 1st, features dragon boat races, performances, dining, and traditional cultural experiences.

 

Particularly noteworthy are △the "Avenue of Stars," filled with food and entertainment △"Food Lane," offering unique "dragon"-themed beverages and various snacks △and the "Beer Garden," where foreign tourists presenting their passports will receive one free beer coupon per person. 

 

Additionally, four themed photo spots will be available at the event venue, providing visitors with a unique experience.

 

Up to 50% Off Attraction Tickets

 

The Hong Kong Tourism Board has prepared a travel promotion worth HK$20 million (approximately 3.9 billion KRW) in collaboration with Trip.com Group. This promotion includes benefits for 19 attractions and 3 transportation options.

Furthermore, customers who book hotels on the online travel platforms "Trip.com" or "Ctrip" for stays between July 1st and September 14th and spend HK$1,500 (approximately 290,000 KRW) or more will also receive benefits.

 

Specifically, on July 14th only, visitors can purchase one attraction ticket and one public transport pass at up to a 50% discount on a first-come, first-served basis. Eligible items include △the Ngong Ping 360 Standard Cable Car round trip ticket △Big Bus Tour Essential Ticket △and two Airport Express (AEL) tickets.

 

The Hong Kong Tourism Board is partnering with organizations such as the Quality Tourism Services Association (QTSA) and the Hong Kong Retail Management Association (HKRMA) to offer dining partnership promotions across Hong Kong.

 

At participating merchants, there will be a 1+1 offer, or the chance to purchase specific menu items for HK$1 (approximately 200 KRW) or HK$10 (approximately 2,000 KRW) on a first-come, first-served basis. Some offers will be exclusively available to registered users on the tourism board's website.

In addition, through Hong Kong Summer Fun, the Hong Kong Tourism Board will be highlighting major cultural, sports, and music events taking place across Hong Kong.

 

Key events include △'Pixar Summer Fest' (until August 31st · Hong Kong Disneyland) △'Pandastic Summer Birthday Celebration' (June 26th - August 31st · Hong Kong Ocean Park) △'Hong Kong Football Festival' (July 31st - August 5th · Kai Tak Stadium) △'Bubble Planet Hong Kong' (from June 29th · Kai Tak Cruise Terminal) △and 'Design Inspire!' (until September 7th · M+ at the West Kowloon Cultural District).

 

A representative from the Hong Kong Tourism Board stated, "Through Hong Kong Summer Fun, we plan to broadly promote major events and various benefits held across Hong Kong during the summer season." He emphasized, "Those visiting Hong Kong this summer can enjoy a wide range of benefits, from events to attractions, shopping, dining, and transportation."
