Ms. A, known as "Old-arc," the woman who stood alone to defend the integrity of ballot boxes against the forceful entry of public authority at the vote counting station in the Seoul Olympic Park Handball Gymnasium—the front line of the struggle to protect the people's right to vote sparked by the June 3 fraudulent election—broke her long silence on the 20th by launching a YouTube channel, just one day before her pre-arrest interrogation (warrant review). Having refrained from making official statements out of concern for the impact on the ongoing investigation, Ms. A has now chosen a direct, confrontational approach of "direct communication with the public" ahead of the unjust pressure from the Lee Jae-myung regime in the form of a warrant review.

Ms. A is the person who garnered attention on social media under nicknames such as "the woman who blocked the door," "Olympic Park woman," and "Star-Spangled Banner woman" for physically blocking Gate 2-1 at the Olympic Park. In her first YouTube video, launched that afternoon, she calmly yet resolutely expressed her feelings: "Although I have been doing my best to cooperate with the investigation as much as possible, the police applied for an arrest warrant last Thursday. As I stand at the crossroads of detention, I realized that staying quiet would actually be more disadvantageous, so I began this communication." 

"I will pay the price for liberal democracy"... A 30-something woman's resolute conviction

In the video, Ms. A directly refuted the contents of the police's arrest warrant application. She stated, "Although it is an official document, there were parts written based on subjective interpretation as to why I should be detained," adding, "Even if my situation worsens, I have no intention of escaping reality through extreme measures," signaling her determination to face the situation head-on.

The details of the police's arrest warrant application disclosed by Ms. A foreshadow a fierce legal and political backlash. Legal experts point out that it is clearly problematic for an official document to cite the suspect’s nickname, "Old-arc," and specify what amounts to a retaliatory "example-setting punishment." 

According to Ms. A, the police claimed in the warrant application that "the suspect neutralized the consensus of the main opposition party's lawmakers, the Athletic Association, and the police, committing a serious crime of obstruction of business, making it impossible to know when the blockade of the handball gymnasium would be resolved." This can be seen as an admission by the police that massive political power and public authority were neutralized in the face of one woman's will to protect the constitution.

In particular, the police explicitly wrote in the application that "severe punishment is absolutely necessary to prevent a second or third 'Old-arc' from appearing." Regarding this, the legal community and patriotic factions have reacted with indignation, labeling it "political retaliatory investigation" and "excessive investigation" aimed at making an example of a symbolic figure opposing the regime, regardless of the legal grounds for detention such as "risk of flight or destruction of evidence." 

Regarding this, Ms. A remarked, "There are many questionable aspects to the content," while adding, "I know many are worried because it is difficult to trust the fairness of the current judiciary, but I will continue to respond calmly according to legal procedures." She added, "I gained a lot of strength from the kind words and comments I have received. The warrant review will be held tomorrow, Tuesday (21st), at 2:30 PM, and if the arrest warrant is dismissed, I will greet you again then." 

Previously, when appearing at the Songpa Police Station on the 10th, Ms. A had also emphasized, "I believed that the court's or the Election Commission's decision to preserve evidence should take priority. If verification proceeds without following principles and procedures, what persuasive power would the conclusion have?" She continued, "I decided that if a price must be paid to protect liberal democracy, I am willing to pay it. That was my mindset on the day I guarded the gate." 

Representative Jang Dong-hyuk, who caused the 'Old-arc' situation, must step in... Calls for 'resolving what he started' follow 

Amidst this situation, voices within the conservative camp are growing that Representative Jang Dong-hyuk of the People Power Party, who provided the catalyst for this incident, must step up to rescue Ms. A, who is at the crossroads of arrest, in the spirit of *gyeolja-haeji* (the one who tied the knot must untie it). There are even specific demands from some that Representative Jang, a former judge, should personally submit a petition to the court on behalf of "Old-arc." 

The reason is that Representative Jang's past actions are deeply linked to the birth of the symbolic figure known as "Old-arc." In the early stages of the situation, Representative Jang aligned with the stance of public authority by leading the decision to force entry, but as allegations of fraud in the June 3 election became more concrete, he recognized the severity of the situation and made a sharp turn in his stance. On the 20th, it was revealed that about 40 People Power Party lawmakers had visited the Olympic Park protest site in a personal capacity, bringing renewed attention to Representative Jang's shift in stance as he moves to the forefront of the struggle, a 180-degree change from the past.

Looking back, it is an undeniable fact that "Old-arc" held the line with her whole body and bought time until Representative Jang Dong-hyuk could overcome internal opposition from the Han Dong-hoon faction and the pro-China faction, solidify his position, and shift the party’s focus toward the "struggle against the fraudulent election." Now, it is time for Representative Jang to go a step further and present clear political responsibility and practical relief measures.

The most urgent and effective measure is for Representative Jang, as a former judge, to express official regret for the forced entry at the time and, as the leader of the main opposition party, submit a petition to the court for Ms. A. If Representative Jang shows an active attitude by submitting a petition, it would provide a foundation for seeking a dramatic reconciliation and solidarity with the legal team, including Representative Hwang Kyo-ahn of the Liberty and Innovation Party, who is currently defending Ms. A. This could serve as a powerful momentum for unification, binding together the currently fracturing conservative camp by providing a turning point for the Liberty and Innovation Party—the only party in the country that has adopted the investigation of election fraud as a party platform—to seek grand solidarity with the People Power Party, which has now sprouted the seeds of the struggle against election fraud. 

The People Power Party must never overlook the symbolism of the Liberty and Innovation Party, which took the lead in the struggle against election fraud even during the harsh ordeal of "betrayal" that left patriotic right-wing citizens feeling deeply betrayed. It is not something to be ignored simply because they have no parliamentary seats. Arrogance always leads to defeat. Representative Jang's initial decision to force entry was widely seen by citizens at the site as an "illegal attempt at entry backed by force," and it was "Old-arc" who physically blocked the gate to prevent the potential "swap" of ballot boxes, as patriotic citizens had been guarding Gate 2-1 to prevent the removal of "fake ballots." Therefore, officially defending Ms. A, a living witness to "constitutional protection," at the People Power Party level and joining the pressure to stop the unreasonable application for a pre-arrest warrant is the way to fulfill political responsibility as a public party and the leader of the main opposition party. If Representative Jang Dong-hyuk remains silent now, perhaps in the not-too-distant future, when he marches toward the Blue House with patriotic citizens, the "out-of-control" police might be the first to apply for a pre-arrest warrant for him. This is the same Lee Jae-myung police that tore down the door to former Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn's home to force entry. This is not ancient history. 

Above all, patriotic citizens clearly remember the shameful behavior of the People Power Party, which distanced itself from President Yoon Suk-yeol during the most difficult moments. Things remembered by the head are often forgotten over time, but things remembered by the heart are not forgotten even after a long time. Many citizens also remember the fact that Liberty and Innovation prioritized the release of President Yoon and took action at that moment. Even if you pull out a nail, a nail mark remains. No matter how many members the People Power Party has, how many lawmakers are in the system, and how many people support Representative Jang, it is natural that the Liberty and Innovation side does not care. Their expertise, honed through six years of fighting while being labeled conspiracy theorists of election fraud, is by no means trivial. It is *Cheongchuram* (the student surpassing the master). It is a principle like the truth of God: a latecomer surpassing the forerunner. It is the principle that lifts up the weakest to be used greatly, thereby shaming those who are arrogant and think themselves strong. It is like the principle of becoming a truly great person when you reach out your hand saying you will learn from those who are smaller than you. 

The golden opportunity to soothe their hearts and show sincerity has arrived. Ultimately, Representative Jang Dong-hyuk's choice regarding this warrant review will determine whether he can completely shed the stigma of being a reckless "forced entrant" from the past and whether he can mend the conflict with Liberty and Innovation, which is perceived as a fracturing of the right wing. This is why the public eye is focused on whether Representative Jang can be reborn as a true "protector of the liberal democratic constitutional order" and a central pillar of conservative grand integration by making a sudden petition to the judiciary and creating an atmosphere of right-wing solidarity.
