The National Assembly's Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee held a plenary session on the 21st and decided to hold a hearing for the Korea Football Association (KFA) on the 30th.

In the absence of the People Power Party members, the committee passed the "motion to modify the implementation plan for the KFA pending issues hearing" and reached this decision.

The committee had originally planned to hold the hearing on the 22nd of this month, but postponed it due to negotiations over the formation of the standing committee.

Chairperson Lee Jae-jeong of the Democratic Party of Korea stated, "Fortunately, it is reported that there has been progress in the negotiations regarding the committee's formation," adding, "I hope that both ruling and opposition party members will join forces in this discussion to clarify the various questions the public has and to ensure the KFA can normalize its operations and fulfill its role for the sound development of Korean soccer."

The committee has selected 15 individuals, including former KFA President Chung Mong-gyu and former national soccer team head coach Hong Myung-bo, as witnesses for the hearing. Eight individuals, including Park Ji-sung, co-chairman of the K-Football Innovation Committee, and Lee Kee-heung, President of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, have been selected as references.
