The Korean Patriots' Association (Representative Oh Sang-jong) has begun a relay rally to protest Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon's refusal of a by-election and to demand his resignation.
At the rally in front of the main entrance of Seoul City Hall on the 22nd at 11 AM, Representative Oh Sang-jong stated, "The votes you received were not for you to trample on the right to vote." He criticized, "Mayor Oh previously used strong language such as 'violation of suffrage,' 'destruction of the constitution,' and 'election where procedural justice has collapsed' to criticize the election commission and the government regarding the shortage of ballots in this local election, and now he is refusing a by-election."
He continued, "As the direct party involved and beneficiary of this election, Oh Se-hoon should demonstrate with actions, not words. However, he is refusing the by-election and trampling on the people's right to vote," strongly criticizing and demanding the mayor's resignation.
Following today's rally, the association will hold a continuous rally again tomorrow, the 23rd.
